Giancarlo Napoli

Giancarlo Napoli, technical director / artist, was born in Salerno on July 14, 1964. Passionate since he was very young in the art world, he graduated in Artistic Maturity in 1982 and later moved to Florence to study at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1986 he graduated with full marks. The very first works completed are performed between the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Pompeii restores both the marble impluvium of the Casa del Meleagro and the frescoes of the insula 9 - Regio II. In Herculaneum, on the other hand, he takes care of the frescoes of the Casa del Gran Portal and the Casa Sannitica. In the following years he continued to specialize obtaining the Higher Diploma at the Art Institute of Naples - section of pictorial decoration. It also follows the restoration course for the Training of "Workers of Artistic Workings and the Restoration of the Wall Paintings" organized by the C.F.M.E., by the Archaeological Superintendence of Pompeii and by the University of the Art of Florence. In 1994 he took first place in the national competition for teaching "Art of Decorating Pictorial and Scenic Art" and "Art of Fresco and Mural Painting Decoration". Also involved in university teaching, he held the Degree Course in Restoration and Diagnostics at the University of Suor Orsola Benincasa in Naples, collaborating in teaching the method of archaeological research applied to restoration and taking over the management of the site-laboratory of restoration of frescoes and mosaics between 15 and 16 Regio I in Pompeii from 2006 to 2010. From 2010 to 2012 he was appointed by the Faculty of Architecture "Lugi Vanvitelli" of the Second University of Naples to teach computer skills and 3D prototyping. There have been several scientific publications, including "Mitis Sarni Opes, new archaeological survey in Moregine" (Denaro Libri, 2000), "Leonardo and the Fantastic Renaissance, an exhibition between Naples and the Mediterranean routes" ( BeeGlam communication, June 2010) and "Leonardo - Donatello - Raffaello masterpieces in comparison" (Marte editrice, November 2010). He is also the technical director of ATRAMENTUM s.r.l., a company that makes use of specialized and highly qualified restorers. During these last 30 years, the works carried out have been numerous and of considerable importance. Giancarlo Napoli intends to continue to field love, passion and tenacity in view of the next challenges.
